August 2006
Well August has passed, and the summer is almost over!  As I sit and dictate this to my Daddy it's about 60 degrees outside, and a cold wind is blowing my summer fun far far away!

I've had a great month, and here are the highlights.  First off, here's me being clean and cool...

And this is typically how I look after dinner...most definitely NOT clean!

This is what one can do with meatballs when given enough time and creativity.  I've recently started smearing my food in my hair too, to complete the effect.  Oh, and I've decided that bibs are for babies...thank goodness Mommy likes doing laundry!

Here's me with my Granny and Grandpa.  They were nice enough to come and play with me while Mommy took Daddy to Bermuda for his birthday.

I'm not sure why they didn't take me, but I'm sure I'll make it there someday!

Believe it or not, all they brought me was a T-shirt!

My favorite parts of August included the time I got to play outside with Mommy, Daddy, and of course my grandparents!

I've learned to climb not only stairs, but also ladders this month!  This is me caught in the act climbing up the ladder to the swingset playhouse.  Look at my innocent little face!  You'd let me climb all the way up unattended, wouldn't you???

The water hose is my favorite outside toy.  I manage to hose down myself, my parents, and everything that doesn't get out of my way!

It's also nifty, because when I get thirsty I can just stick the thing in my mouth until my cheeks are ready to pop.  Good times!

Daddy's teaching me how to drive his boat, and I'm getting pretty good!  Just look at the concentration on my face...all I need now is a cool boating hat like Daddy has!

And here's another collage of me with a bunch of animals, this time at the White Post Farm.  I got to feed a bunch of goats and sheep, a goat tried to eat my hat, and I got to kiss a baby goat on the head.

For those of you planning on going goat feeding, here's something I learned:  goat food does NOT taste good, so don't try it!

In the middle of the month we flew to Breckenridge for a week of hiking fun with our friends Don and Gita!

Thanks to eBay and the Tough Traveler Stallion backpack, I spent hours and hours hiking on Daddy's back, getting up to 12,000' twice!

Here we are climbing up up and away!  For many many more pictures, make sure you check out the 2006 Breckenridge Page

Oh, and Daddy submitted our pictures to the Tough Traveler page.  Check out how fancy we are here.

I coulda been a contenda!

One of the problems with being a rambunctious outdoorsy baby is that once in a while ya run into something hard.

Here's me after 2 falls in a 15 minute period out in the front yard.  First I skinned my knee when I fell in the street, and then I tripped while pushing my train and whacked my face on its handle.  I came in covered with blood!

Fortunately a yummy blue popsicle and some Mommy-love made me feel better right away!

And this is me in a bathtub recovering from a hard day of playing outside!  Look how skinny I am now!  Where'd all the baby fat go???

Compare this to me way back in October:

Well, the good thing about me being skinny and fit is that I can be a crazy climbing monkey!  This is me hanging onto my Daddy...I can climb all the way up him if he holds my hands, and then I can hang onto his neck without falling (well, yet)!

And check it out!  Mommy's been trying to teach me sign-language for a while now, and I've mastered the sign for "more"!  Fortunately it also works great for "again" and "yes", so I get to use it a million times a day.  Yes, I know this isn't quite the American Sign Language standard for "more", but consider this the Max-Modification.
