June 2006

Wow!  What a month.  I travelled to Chicago and Florida, had a ride in an ambulance, went to a petting zoo, and got my first viral exanthem!  I'm a busy busy dude, and here's how my month went:

And yes, this picture is reversed so that it looks like I'm looking at the date...Daddy's clever like that...

So this'll be a little out of order.  In the middle of the month Mommy and I went with Daddy to Chicago for a thrilling AMA meeting.

This is me out in the park across from the hotel listening to the Blues Festival.  I'm too young to have the blues, but I enjoyed the music anyway.  As you can see I'm quite the ham, and love posing for the camera!

While in Chicago we met Daddy's friends John, Merry, and Claire (and their doggies too).

We went to their house and had pizza and also went out to dinner where I got to see flaming saganaki!    OOOPA!!!

I love going out to restaurants (always have) and here's me at my favorite, the Cheesecake Factory!  I go there so  often I should be their spokesperson!

Oh, and did you know that a sprig of parsley fits into a straw?  It's crazy!

For the Father's Day weekend we went to Florida and met my Abuelo and Oma on the beach.

This is us in front of the pink hotel where my Mommy and Daddy were married a loooooooong looooooong time ago.  That's a shell I'm holding there...they're nifty.

This is me and my Daddy on Father's Day hanging out like men in the pool.  Note that there's nobody else in the pool...they might've been scared off by my loose swim diaper (or my Daddy's blindingly white skin).

Actually a little later on a bunch of kids came into the pool, and a couple of girls came and played with me...I'm still a chick magnet...

And here's an example of exactly that!  This is me and two of my girlfriends taking a bath together...their faces and bodies have been blurred out so that their Daddy doesn't freak out that this is on the Internet.

Hokay, so the big event of the month was my "illness".  While Daddy was on call, Mommy and I were playing together when I passed out and stopped breathing!  I know, it's kinda crazy, and it scared Mommy and Daddy pretty bad.  An ambulance came and took me to the hospital where I had a CT scan, bloodwork (thanks to my Daddy's mad IV skills), X-rays, and a urine test.  Everything was normal, and it was probably just "one of those things", whatever that means.

I also got my first big fever followed by a rash (Daddy says it's Roseola Infantum, but I think he's just trying to sound smart).  This is me on the plane back from Florida with a fever and feeling sick.

Daddy's friends Don and Gita came to visit from California too, and they brought me this swell elephant that turns into a pillow!  We talked about all sorts of animals and then went to a petting zoo:

And here are the highlights!  That's me trying to be tall like a giraffe while Don feeds it carrots, me pointing to the sheep that I fed out of my hand (mom thought that was really really gross), me with a bunch of baby goats, and me with some baby deer.  Oh, and I also touched a baby duck on the head..

It was one of the best days ever!  You should do this if you ever get a chance!!!

And after all of that I passed out...a tough day of playing with animals sure takes it out of you!

But never fear, I bounce back quickly, and am always ready to play!!!

Finally, this is me in my German soccer uniform (thanks Oma!!!) practicing with my ball in the backyard.

I wear this whenever the German team plays, and I help them win win win (they're in the semi-finals now) which really makes the players happy.

Here are Michael Ballack and Miroslav Klose celebrating after finding out I was wearing their colors today!
