Happy May
everyone! Thanks for all of the well-wishes and birthday
greetings back in April. I've grown a lot since then, and I have
a bunch of new pictures to show you!
Let's start out with a standard cute pose.
|
 |
As
you can see I'm a bigtime walker now! I can go anywhere, shoes or
barefoot, and I can even run when I see something I really want (which
is anything breakable and/or expensive).
|
 |
The
downside to all that is that I'm sorta dangerous to myself and the
furniture.
This is me after two large crashes in a 15-minute period. I
whacked my eyebrow on the corner of the coffee table, and my cheek on
the high-chair.
Mommy and Daddy wisely kept me out of the public eye until the swelling
went down.
|
 |
At the start of May
we went to Washington D.C., did some sight-seeing, and hung out with
Diego!
This is me in front of the D.C. landmarks looking patriotic!
|
 |
Here
we are at the National Zoo! There's my Uncle Gil and Cousin Diego
and we're cruisin in style. Love Diego's shades!
|
 |
Everyone
thought my favorite animal would be something big and dramatic.
Little did anyone know that I'd meet the Giant Elephant Shrew!
Not only is it giant, but it also has an elephant nose, and a ratty
tail. Most importantly, though, it ran back and forth and back
and forth right at eye level, so I got to chase it for a loooong time.
Thanks dad for putting that close-up of the shrew in the picture for
everyone else to experience!
|
 |
Look
how cute Diego is! I'm muuuuuuuch more gentle now with my cousin
than I was before. See how gently I'm trying to poke him in the
eyeball?
|
 |
Here we all
are. This is a pose that the four grown-ups did in front of the
same display (see small picture below) in 2002, long before Diego or I
were born.
I think everyone looks much happier
now.

|
 |
At
the end of the month my Grandma and Grandpa came down to visit.
As you can see, we went to Mt. Sinai beach and I got to pick up
rocks! I love picking up rocks, and there were a TON on the
beach. I kept trying, but Mommy wouldn't let me eat any.
|
 |
Isn't
this a great shot of me and my Grandpa? He's got some buff
calves, don't you think?
|
 |
Here
I am in my backyard pool nekked. Can you see my big balls?
They float!
Hahaha aha aha hahaha hahah...I'm one funny baby!
|
 |
Here's
Mommy giving me a shower with a flower-pot. I never get to stand
up in my tub, so this was great!
Fortunately for me, we have big thick hedges all around our yard, so
nobody else got to see...well, nobody except all of you...
|
 |
Aaaah, domestic
bliss. Can't you just hear the birds tweeting in the background
and imagine the butterflies flitting around?
Yes, the yard really is that slanted, so I have a deep end and a
shallow end in my pool.
|
|
So now that I'm all grown up, I can drive a car, stock up on
beer, and wear my cool denim. Watch out ladies, here I come!
|
|
|

|
My favorite toys now are my push-toys! I got a great
car from my Uncle Michael and a train from my Mommy's friend
Kurstin, but I've discovered that anything can be used as a push-toy if
you push hard enough!
Here's a video
of me taking off down the street with my train. I started out
playing with my
Daddy in the carport, and then I took off down the driveway, turned
left, and shot off down the road without ever looking back! I'm
Mr. Independent!
|
|
This is my new bathtub trick. I like to blow bubbles
(with my mouth...been able to with another body part for months).
Ain't I a ham?
|
For
my birthday I got to go and have my formal pictures taken. Here
are the four highlights from that session scanned in by my Daddy.
Not sure why I'm naked in a pot in the first one. Don't I look
like an inquisitive spy in the second? Look at what a pretty
Mommy and handsome Daddy I have! Enjoy, and see you next month!
